Work-Based Learning
Students are required to attend the Work-Based Learning class daily during the month of September. Internship paperwork must be completed and approved before a student may begin their internship. Once placed, students are required to attend a class once a week (to be determined) during the entire school year. Throughout the school year there will be additional related assignments given on the day the student returns to meet with their instructor. The students are expected to look during the summer prior to the school year for a potential placement. The Cascadia Tech does not guarantee a placement for any student; however, the WBL coordinator and instructor will make every effort possible to assist in locating a placement for each student. If the student is not placed within a certain time frame, they must withdraw and return to their sending school.
Program Structure and Benefits:
Professional attire required for internships. Student must provide their own transportation to/from internship sites. Maintain updated car insurance, if driving. Family medical insurance or student accident insurance is required.
Note: Student accident insurance is available through your sending high school.
