PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This course offers students the opportunity to earn up to 640 of the 1,800 hours required by Washington State toward a beauty operator's license. The course consists of both lecture and lab periods in all phases of theory and science of cosmetology. The course curriculum includes the following:
- Safety, hygiene and bacteriology
- Sterilization and sanitation
- Decontamination and infection control
- Shampooing (soap and dry)
- Hair coloring and bleaching - practical and theory
- Care of face and massaging - eyebrow arching and waxing
- Cold permanent waving - practical and theory
- Finger waving
- Manicuring, pedicuring, parts of the nail, diseases and disorders theory
- Laws of beauty culture
PROGRAM BENEFITS:

Seniors only
Good hand/eye coordination
Ability to communicate with people
