PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Construction Technology class is a two-year program. This program is jointly operated by the Skills Center and Clark College. Students completing this two-year program will be given credit towards a degree at Clark College. An additional year's work at Clark College will lead to an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Second year the students of this program will construct a house.

STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM, DURING A TWO-YEAR PROGRAM, WILL LEARN:
- Equipment and shop safety
- Blueprint reading
- Carpentry and wood construction methods
- Concrete foundation methods
- Construction project management
- Building construction cost estimating
- Building codes
- Building plumbing, electrical, heating systems
- Industry expectations

- Safety Poster
- Carpenter's Tool Box
- Building Plans
- Storage Sheds
- Scale Model House
- Rafter and Stair Mock-Ups
- Residential Structure
PROGRAM BENEFITS:

PREREQUISITES:
- Career interest in construction-related occupations
- Student must enjoy working outdoors
- Student must enjoy working in a team environment
- Math competency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions
- 9th grade reading level
- Good attendance
