Class Video

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Most employers hire people trained to provide excellent customer service.  In fact, 75 percent of all jobs require customer service training and this program is an excellent way to acquire that training. The customer service skills, combined with knowledge of financial software and products, will lead you to a successful career in an assortment of businesses.  If you want to work in a BANK/CREDIT UNION, BUSINESS OFFICE, SMALL BUSINESS, PAYROLL OR HUMAN RESOURCES, or ANY CAREER RELATED TO FINANCE, this is the class for you!

Working in the financial field is a challenging job with lots of potential career opportunities.  Training in banking, financial products and services, and financial software lead you to careers in banking, insurance, lending, college financial aid, corporate finance, bookkeeping, payroll and accounting.  Students begin by enrolling in the Financial Customer Services program.  As enrollees progress through the program, they have the opportunity to complete internships in a variety of financial organizations throughout Clark County.

Successful students qualify for excellent part-time or full-time employment opportunities as early as their senior year!  Financial organizations are looking for employees who enjoy paying attention to detail and demonstrate strong communication and “people” skills as well as initiative and problem solving ability.  A career in finance is an excellent opportunity for students interested in business opportunities as there are options for students who intend to attend college and for those who choose to enter the workforce immediately after graduation.
