Applied Math:

Applied Math is designed to serve students who have a scheduling conflict, students that learn best in an individualized, self-directed environment, students that need to recover academic credit, or students that need to complete additional credits to fulfill the requirements for the Washington State Assessment of Student Learning.

The Applied Math curriculum is designed to access the strengths of the Skills Center student by employing hands-on activities and labs to learn math.  The curriculum further relates to the student by making connections to their Skills Center curriculum.  The curriculum is based on Washington State standards and frameworks.

Instruction of Applied Math includes lecture, modeling, hands-on activities, group work and individualized coaching.  Students have opportunities for pair-sharing, small group collaboration and individual problem solving.
